Galen School of Nursing Utilizes Several Campuses to Train Tomorrow’s Nurses

The Galen School of Nursing has provided an excellent education for thousands of graduates from its campuses in Tampa Bay, Cincinnati, San Antonio, and Louisville. Their programs are designed to prepare students to enter a challenging career where well qualified applicants are always in demand. With expert faculty and laboratories equipped with the latest technological innovations, this school is an exceptional experience for individuals new to the nursing profession, and for those who have already worked in a nursing capacity and are seeking to broaden their career opportunities.

The Galen School of Nursing offers programs for licensed practical nurses and for registered nurses. Because nursing education is their sole focus, this college is supremely dedicated to educating the nursing professionals of the future. The school’s many resources are all devoted to the study of nursing. Without competing interests, the school is able to provide its students with a superior education that grants them access to technological innovations and cutting edge techniques.

One of the largest private nursing institutions in the United States, Galen is directed by a board of nationally recognized health professionals who ensure their programs are among the most complete, and competitive, in the nation. The college is accredited by various state boards of education and is also nationally accredited and is approved by various state nursing boards.

Originally organized about twenty years ago to address a national nursing shortage, Galen has succeeded in training thousands of nurses to become skilled and compassionate providers of medical assistance. They are recognized for their relatively small class sizes and the one-on-one attention their students receive from their nationally recognized faculty members.

At the Galen School of Nursing, students are encouraged to acquire theoretical and practical experiences concurrently. This approach helps students learn the clinical judgment skills which they will utilize on a daily basis as they embark upon a career. The college stresses real world health care settings to give students practical skill experiences, but also possesses the ability to provide a number of clinical laboratory experiences that help the student’s knowledge base expand rapidly.

The school offers a variety of nursing program options. Among these are:

  • The Associate of Science in Nursing Degree Program
  • The LPN to RN Bridge Program
  • The Practical Nursing Program

These programs require varying time frames to complete. Some may be completed within as few as 12 months, while others may take one and a half years to finish. For greater flexibility, students may attend on either a full time or part time basis. Additionally, some courses are offered entirely online, while others are enhanced by website capabilities.

Students interested in attending the Galen College of Nursing should plan to apply for admission well in advance of deadlines. Class sizes are small and generally more candidates apply than there is space for in the program. New classes begin in each of the four quarters of the year, which offers convenient options if the student misses a deadline. Prospective students must submit a completed application form and must also include either recent ACT/SAT test scores, or complete Galen’s own admission test procedure. Students, who hold an LPN and would like to become an RN, must also submit proof of their LPN credentials such as their official LPN transcript.

The Galen School of Nursing offers practical experience and an exceptional education for students at their various campuses in the United States. With faculty that is dedicated to providing the best possible training in a supportive and encouraging environment, this school is well equipped to offer students the best nursing education to prepare them for a challenging career.
